Origins

Goryeo, which would rule from 918 until 1392 CE gave the world the Hangul alphabet built on the patterns created by the mouth when it was pronounced. Development in Korea

Additionally, the northern part of the peninsula was ruled by the Balhae kingdom, which the majority of historians do not believe to be a legitimate Korean state.
After the Three Kingdoms arose the Proto-Three Kingdoms Period, or Several States Period. Baekje, the most powerful of these states was diminished by the Goguryeo's fall (676 CE) leaving only its southern regions in Manchuria, and the western region around Hwanghae Bay. Eastern Buyeo as well as the Gaya confederacy, prospered for a while.
The Unified Silla kingdom then emerged, and the three kingdoms began to cooperate in order to expand their territory. Silla, with the help of the Chinese, eventually conquered and unified the peninsula in 935.

Creationism in Korea
In South Korea, 26% of the population is Christian. The creationists have been successful in promoting their views among this group. A 2009 survey showed that almost one-third of respondents didn't believe in evolution. Of those, 41% said that there was insufficient scientific evidence to support the theory 39% of respondents said it contradicted their religious beliefs; and 17 percent said they did not understand it. This level of doubt is similar to that of the United States, where a majority of people are not convinced that humans evolved from less advanced forms of life.
In the past, the anti-evolution movement in Korea focused primarily on educating students and the introduction of Christ to them. In 1980 the year 1980, a four-day creation science seminar was held in Seoul during the World Evangelization Crusade. Drs. Henry Morris and Duane Gish of ICR as the main speakers. This event attracted a huge number of pastors, professors, church leaders and scientists.
The event's success led to the formation of the Korea Association of Creation Research on January 31st of 1980. The inaugural meeting was widely covered in national newspapers, such as The Korea Times and Chosun Ilbo and also was well-received by the public.
KACR began publishing a monthly newsletter called CREATION, which reported on its activities and published articles on scientific evidence for creationism. Similar to the way traditional Korean music styles were replaced by contemporary jazz and rock and roll. In this period the famous samulnori or masked dance-dramas, were loved by the public. These dramatic pieces were performed to the accompaniment of shaman drums and various musical instruments.
Korea's new development paradigm is being developed in the wake of the economic crisis. The main challenge for the new regime is to find the right balance between state-led economic policies as well as market-oriented ones.
